The IUS Ceramics Catalyst Residency is a short-term program offering artists dedicated space and time to pursue new creative projects. Like a catalyst in nature, this residency accelerates transformation—the moment when potential energy becomes kinetic, when intention meets action.
Resident artists are offered access to our fully equipped ceramics studio at Indiana University Southeast, with opportunities to explore new directions, take creative risks, and deepen their practice. The residency is intended as a generative, open-ended space: a launching point for future exhibitions, bodies of work, or interdisciplinary inquiry.
Through focused studio time and engagement with our vibrant ceramics community, resident artists can break through creative barriers, explore new directions, and generate work that extends their artistic impact. IUS faculty, students, and the broader creative community serve as collaborators, witnesses, and catalysts themselves—both supporting the resident artist’s journey and being sparked to explore new directions in their own work, reinforcing the importance of artistic research within a university setting.
