The slip we use is a modified version of Rhodes White slip (it’s just Rhodes White without the borax). You can find a link to it on Glazy HERE.

Colored slip recipes and process for mixing
To make more colored slips, find the 5 gallon bucket of already mixed Rhodes White Slip:
Step 1: In a clean container, measure 1 cup of the Rhodes White Slip (in liquid form)
Step 2: Add the amount (in tablespoons) of the dry mason stain listed below
Step 3: Mix thoroughly, using a small electric mixer, until it is well-mixed
Step 4: If there is leftover slip, pour that out of the old container into the freshly made slip
Step 5: Clean the old container and pour all of the slip back into it
Step 6: Clean the container you used to mix the slip in
