Mangus/Kwong All Purpose Dark Clay

This is an all purpose dark clay from Kirk Mangus and Eva Kwong. Do not double this recipe for a Solder mixer batch – just use the numbers below as pounds. Use Hawthorn Bond as your Fireclay. Grog amount could be either fine, medium, or course – or a mixture of different sizes to equal 20 pounds.

Fire clay …… 50
Redart ……… 50
Grog ……….. 20
Ball Clay …… 10
Wollastonite … 5
Barium Carbonate – 1 cup
